The level of innovation and high quality of service which INEX is able to provide to its customers is directly related to the strength and appropriateness of its skills base. Our staff are primarily drawn from development and production environments in the semiconductor and MEMS sectors, supplemented by scientific and project management personnel with specialist expertise in cell and molecular biology, electronic materials and device design, and material processing.
Our executive and managerial staff have over 100 man-years experience in high technology industries (defence, aerospace, automotive and telecommunications), our quality management benefits from 28 man-years experience in the semiconductor (13), defence (12) and automotive (3) sectors, and our engineering staff have over 300 man-years experience in semiconductor manufacturing (Si, GaAs, GaN, InP, etc). Fifty three percent of our engineering, scientific, sales and project management staff have higher degrees, while 26% have PhDs.
From time-to-time we appoint specialist technical advisors to provide advice and support to specific projects or more generally. Currently Dr L W Kennedy holds the post of Visiting Professor at INEX, acting in a non-executive capacity. Les Kennedy is a senior technology manager with extensive experience of R&D (Chief Scientist of Marconi Defence Systems 1990-1994), operations (VP Semiconductor Operations, Marconi Optical Components 2000-2002), project delivery and relationship management, much of it in a defence environment.
